Recipes for Macular Degeneration Patients

Smoothie Recipe
- Medium sized bag of Spinach
- Bag of Kale
- 4 Large Carrots (Chopped)
- 4 Apples (Cored & Quartered)
- Bunch of fresh Parsley
- 1 - 1.5 inch piece of root Ginger (Peeled & Chopped)

Blueberry Crumble
A twist on a classic dessert with a super ingredient for ocular health! Serves 4.
- 4 large cooking apples, peeled and sliced
- A sprinkling of caster sugar to taste
- 500g frozen blueberries
- 120g rolled oats
- 100g light soft brown sugar
- 50g plain flour
- 115g of unsalted butter
Put the apples and caster sugar into a saucepan with a splash of water, and simmer for ten minutes or until soft.
Put the apples into an oven proof dish, gently tumble with the blueberries.
Make the crumble by rubbing in the butter to the flour, mix in the oats and brown sugar. Layer over the fruit.
Bake in the pre-heated oven for 35 minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown. Serve with custard or cream.
