Who is Testing you?
Optical Assistants & Dispensing Opticians
Before you see the Optometrist, trained members of the team will pre-screen you. They do not analyse your tests, they are there to get the clearest results possible and answer any questions you may have about the screening process. Please tell them at once if you need assistance or clarification about the tests. These team members are Optical Assistants or Dispensing Opticians, and they are fully trained for this equipment, and to look after you before and after your test. They'll even make you a hot drink if you have time! They pass the confidential results to your Optometrist in preparation for your consultation.
For your eye examination you see an Optician, correct professional title Optometrist, who is fully qualified to test eyes. Our Optometrists are qualified with a Science degree and then full professional training. All undertake yearly continuing education to keep them up to date with new technology and clinical information. As well as studying to hone their skills they are also qualified by experience - over 130 years in practice between them! Your Optometrist uses state of the art equipment and the good old fashioned method of chatting to you to assess your visual needs.
You can e-mail or phone your Optometrist if you need help from them after your appointment.
Eye care, We care, After care.
