Despite the weather a great day out was had by all at Kettering's exciting cycle event. Halford's Tour comprises 10 races held through 10 towns to find an overall champion. Kettering put on a great range of events and stalls on Thursday June 10th in the build up to the big race, including a display and stall run by our Optician Roz Giles with help from Maui Jim sunglasses.
Races ran through the town from midday onwards, including local schools fun races to the big Halford's tour at 7.00pm. The start and finish line for the big race was at the re-furbished old market area, where spectators lined the route. Fans travalled from all across the region to soak up the atmosphere and support the cyclists.

Roz, a keen triathlete and cyclist herself, was enthusiastic about being a part of the day. "I'm really pleased that our town was able to host this event. I had a great time chatting to the spectators. As I'm an Optometrist also qualified in Sport Vision this is my area of expertise and interest. It was also a brilliant opportunity for Kettering businesses."
As stockists of the Maui Jim brand Davis Opticians invited them along to the event, as they specialise in light weight sunglasses for sport and leisure. This was their chance to meet their clients and they were happy to provide information and a few goodies for the crowd!
